Summer Romance - The Most Romantic Collections

I was flipping through some Spring/Summer 2011 Collections when I came across Dolce & Gabbana ready-to wear. I've seen the collection before in magazines and I love everything about it so I thought I would share it with you.

The light makeup and loose updos are simple yet beautiful and so perfect for a laid-back summer look. Definitely my go-to for Spring/Summer.

As for the collection, I love the incredibly romantic feel. It consisted mainly of white fabrics: (which will pop perfectly with a nice summer tan) silk, macrame, chiffon, applique and my favourite, lace. I'm not usually one for beading, but I actually love the metallic beading details on some of the dresses. It's also amazing to see how many different things a designer can do with lace.

The collection was titled Sicilian Sensuality and the designers told Vogue UK that they were aiming for the “sensual kind of elegance and tradition that characterises the typical trousseau of Southern Italy”.

The Ghost in You, She Don't Fade.

What I'm Wearing
* Thrifted tweed jacket... which is a bit big actually and was suppose to take a journey to the tailor but I found it hanging quietly in the guest room closet.
* DIY pearl v-neck t-shirt. Loving this shirt!
* Mark by Marc Jacobs cropped tweed menswear pants. A GILT find.
* DIY fabric flower belt {or necklace or headband}.
* Vintage sunglasses.
* Watermelon pink Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes. I think I need the black ones too. They're a classic {in black} and surprisingly comfortable, which equals a great investment!

* Title: lyrics from Psychedelic Furs - "The Ghost In You".

It's a little much, this outfit... with all the pink and pearls and flowers, but the manly tweeds balance it out a bit I think. It's fun to be ultra feminine sometimes though, but I really never want to feel "prissy", it's just not my thing. I have a hair appointment on Friday and am thinking I should add a little strawberry blonde back in the mix... ? I liked the touch of red I had last year, though the overall color was a bit dark for me. Maybe just a glimmer of light strawberry cream this time? It's funny though, when my roots grow out, it literally looks like my natural hair when I was young that would get really light in the Summer sun and grow out darker in the winter months. I suppose that's why I never really mind my roots that much.

The Golden Globes 2012: Top 10 best dressed

Next to the Oscars, the Golden Globes are our favourite of the awards ceremonies, which is why we never fail to stay awake for the red carpet arrivals. We don’t want this to sound like an acceptance speech, but we want to thank everyone who kept us company on Twitter and shared their opinions with us in the middle of the night – we love your dedication to fashion!
This year, we waited with baited breath for Michelle Williams, Rooney Mara and Emma Stone to turn up, and although they all looked beautiful, (put it this way, we wouldn’t put them on a worst dressed list) they didn’t make it on our ‘Top 10’ – simply because we expected something a little more wow-worthy. If Emma Stone had turned up in her green Jason Wu dress from the Critics Choice Awards, she’d be a firm frontrunner for best dressed!
Hollywood royalty Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the other hand stole the show, as did Sarah Michelle Gellar, Zooey Deschanel, Claire Danes and Charlize Theron, who all greatly satisfied our fashion taste buds. (You can find them all in our ‘Top 10′ below!)
We think we were most surprised by Ringer (and Buffy, natch) star Sarah Michelle Gellar, as we don’t always get to see her at these events, although we wish she’d show her face more. With a teeny-tiny frame like Sarah’s, it would be easy for her to get lost in the Monique lhuillier dress her two-year-old reportedly helped her pick (aww!), but she owned it and made it onto our ‘Top 10′ list with ease.
So, after much deliberation, here’s our Top 10: let us know in the comments if you disagree or if we’ve left your favourite out!

Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique lhuillier

Zooey Deschanel in Prada (complete with “tuxedo” nails)

                                                       Lea Michele in Marchesa

                                                Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen

                                                   Claire Danes in J Mendel

                                                        Jessica Alba in Gucci

                                             Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

                                                         Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang

                                                    Elle Macpherson in Zac Posen

Jeannie Mai Channels Old Hollywood Glam at the Golden Globes

Isn't she lovely? Our very own Jeannie Mai fits right in with Tinseltown's A-list on the Golden Globes red carpet in her stunning custom red satin gown by Italian couture designer Ines Di Santo. The How Do I Look? host couldn't resist going Old Hollywood glam, and styled her famously blue-streaked, jet-black locks into retro, long curls.
The fashion expert sparkled like the stars with glittering jewels and box clutch. She's even got the pose down!

The Growth of Urban Wear

Urban wear is a fashion category that is popular among internationally known brands as well as local brands preferred by local people. It contains different items like clothing, footwear, jewellery, handbag, purse as well as many other accessories. Generally, the designer-made items are more popular among the people and they can be found both in the malls, retailer shops as well as wholesaling markets. Usually they come with good deals and are popular among the trendy men and women in urban areas as well as the countryside. Within the category, the most popular items are men and women apparels. In most cases, the most trendy and vogue items are most likely to be found in the more established malls.

In case of designer made urban wear items; the most important aspect about which the buyers are concerned would be whether or not the product is authentic and genuine. Of course, most of the owners would pledge that they only sell goods that are totally genuine as well as unique. However, in spite of all of the goods being "unique and genuine", the price range can be huge. Nonetheless, the price is usually not very high and in most cases, it is very affordable for the common man. Sellers would also claim that the customer could request a refund if they prove after they buy the clothing that it is not genuine. Therefore, it is very important to check the quality of the product first before buying it. It is also advised to only buy urban wear items from the authentic and genuine stores.

Many renowned companies, especially the international brands, start their apparel empire by selling urban wear in different places. They earn their place in the markets by gradually accumulating customers in the local markets and build up their credibility. In addition to these, strong business relations among the brands and companies help them to overcome difficulties and hardships together and eventually give rise to the strong enterprises that are well known for selling urban wear items nowadays. Usually, various companies and brands are involved in the design, production, wholesaling as well as the eventual retailing of these items.

In most cases, it takes many years to build up an image for a brand and a business. It is only then that the customers begin to trust the standard of the items provided by the seller. This is most true in the case of wholesalers. It is a common belief that the wholesalers are not truthful about the quality of the material. Nonetheless, brands and retailer shops attract their target customers and build up image by expanding their product lines as well as by introducing more affordable items. The target customer groups were youngsters and celebrities. As a result hip-hop style items with rich designs and bold motifs were introduced. The designs of this brand were really trendy, enthusiastic and appealing.

2012 Critics' Choice Awards: Kirsten Dunst & Charlize Theron opt for LBDs

It was a night for the LBDs (Little Black Dresses) at the 2012 Critics' Choice Awards. Similar to the People's Choice Awards, the glittering event attracted a huge amount of A-listers including Charlize Theron.
Of course it doesn't take much to make her look amazing, Charlize did choose well in this ruffled black dress by Azzedine Alaia. It was classic chic-ness at its best as the Young Adult star posed for cameras wearing a Bvlgari ring, a black clutch and a pair of gold sandals. The highlight for me was her hair (I really wish I could have shown you a pic!) which was braided to one side and then weaved into multiple braids and fixed into a bun. Stun-ning!

Kirsten Dunst was another familiar face to attend last night's CC Awards. She also opted to wear black in this sleeveless layered tulle number by Christian Dior. She matched her sweet little dress with a pair of ankle-strap peep-toe heels and simple jewellery.
